Tsjekkisk delegasjon
KRUS fikk i dag besøk av en tsjekkisk delegasjon, som ble orientert om fengselsbetjentutdanningen i Norge av direktør Hans-Jørgen Brucker. På møtet deltok også dekan Egil Larsen, og seniorrådgiver Marie Toreld fra EVU-avdelingen på KRUS, samt representanter fra friomsorgen i Norge. Tsjekkerne har et omfattende program for et tredagers besøk i Norge. EØS-midler finansierer prosjektsamarbeid blant annet innenfor kriminalomsorgen mellom Norge og flere Sentral- og Sør-Europeiske land deriblant Tsjekkia i perioden 2009-2014. For perioden 2009 - 2014 er det totalt avsatt 1,78 milliarder kroner innenfor 32 ulike programområder. Det overordnete måtlet med EØS-midlene er å bidra til å redusere sosiale og økonomiske forskjeller i Europa samt å styrke det bilaterale forholdet mellom Norge og mottakerlandene. Det langsiktige målet for samarbeidet mellom Norge og mottakerlandene innenfor kriminalomsorgen er å bidra til en utvikling av som samsvarer med relevante internasjonale menneskerettighetsstandarder. Herunder er målet med samarbeidet å møte utfordringer knyttet til en økt fangebefolkning, etterstrebe økt bruk av alternative straffereaksjoner, bidra til økt fokus på utsatte grupper i fengsel samt å heve kompetansen til både innsatte og ansatte. Kriminalomsorgsdirektoratet er såkalt programpartner (Donor Programme Partner - DPP) for Latvia, Litauen, Polen og Romania i nevnte periode. I Tsjekkia er det Europarådet som er DPP, mens Kriminalomsorgsdirektoratet skal legge til rette for samarbeid mellom norsk og tsjekkisk kriminalomsorg. KRUS er allerede involvert i prosjektsamarbeid med Latvia, Polen og Romania.
